Liberal churches' nativity scenes depict Christ child as a caged refugee

The apostasy and blasphemy of apostate denominations such as the United Church of Canada and their various components continues. Submitted for your approval, a couple of examples reported by David Menzies of Rebel News, December 16, 2019:

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas... Well, not really. Case in point: the nativity scene at Toronto’s Eastminster United Church.

Now called “The Detained Christ”, the church's Christmas display depicts the baby Jesus inside a cage and wrapped in a solar blanket.

Apparently, this art installation is meant to raise awareness of illegal migrants and refugee claimants. Gee, where are the Three Wise Men when you really need them?



It hardly needs to be pointed out--but I will, anyway--that Joseph, Mary, and Jesus were not refugees at the time of Jesus' birth, but were temporarily in Bethlehem to register for a census (Luke 2:1-7). They were refugees in Egypt for a time when Herod was seeking to kill Jesus, but returned to Nazareth after Joseph was informed by an angel that those who were seeking to kill Jesus were dead (Matthew 2:13-23). This was a family of three people who were temporarily in exile, and returned home when it was safe. They weren't part of a movement of mass migration such as is being promoted by the liberal churches today. If those who claim that their views are based on Christian charity and compassion find themselves on the same side of an issue as anti-Christian figures such as George Soros and Justin Trudeau, I suggest they reexamine their positions.
