On January 9, 1913, Richard Milhous Nixon, 37th President of the United States of America (1969-1974), was born in Yorba Linda, California. Those who are interested may want to visit the sites of the Richard Nixon Foundation or the Nixon Presidential Library & Museum, which includes a Watergate Gallery as a permanent exhibit. As for me, I always commemorate the anniversary of Mr. Nixon's birth and death by observing 18 1/2 minutes of silence.
January 5 marked the 80 anniversary of the death of Calvin Coolidge, 30th President of the United States of America (1923-1929). The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum is in Northampton, Massachusetts. Mister, we could use a man like Calvin Coolidge again.
Daily Luther Sermon Quote - Sexagesima Epistle - "Second, Paul deals the
false apostles a stout blow when he shows them to be ignorant of the
grounds in which a true Christian seeks his glory. For, as he teaches them,
a Christian glories in the things whereof other men are ashamed — in the
cross and in his sufferings. This is the true art of glorying."
