And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment: Hebrews 9:27
But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8
On June 27, 2002, John Entwistle, bass guitar player with the rock group The Who, died in a hotel room in Las Vegas, a day before the group was to play the first show of an American tour. Mr. Entwistle had reportedly gone to bed with a floozie, and died of a cocaine-induced heart attack. He enjoyed the "plaeasures of sin for a season" (Hebrews 11:25b), but that season is over, and I wouldn't want to trade places with him. An odd sidebar to Mr. Entwistle's death is that bandmate Pete Townshend was quoted as saying that it wasn't until the day of the funeral that he learned that Mr. Entwistle had spent most of his life as a Freemason.
Daily Luther Sermon Quote - Epiphany 3 - "Furthermore the example of love
is presented here in the love of Christ to the leper. For you see here, how
love makes a servant of Christ, so that he helps the poor man freely
without any reward, and seeks neither advantage, favor nor honor thereby,
but only the good of the poor man and the honor of God the Father."
